Blog Post # 2 - Blogs? What’s a Blog?

To me a blog is somewhere I can share my feelings on certain subjects. It’s also a way for people to comment on my writing online. I have heard of blogs on different websites for things, such as writing blogs and video blogging. I use a computer almost every day, so I can find my way around a lot of things on the computer. I usually use computers for getting and keeping in touch with friends through e-mail.
I’ve never felt like I have been very good at writing but it is something I feel like I would really like to work on. To me it’s easier to organize the information in my head than getting it all out on paper. I like to write about things I’m passionate about, and things I can write a lot about. Things I normally write about are experiences I have had in my life, and my opinions on these things.
I think people are so concerned about the safety of kids on the internet because, without seeing for yourself, you can’t ever be 100% sure of who you are talking to. It’s easy for kids to make friends on the computer and gaining enough trust in the person to want to talk to or see them out in the real world. Not only that, but most kids are willing to do it alone. This is dangerous because kids can be talking to someone that is not who they thought they were talking to. I think the internet does not have to be a dangerous place unless you are careless to who you are giving your information out to.
Most people use the internet for keeping in touch with friends, watching videos, and looking things up.
I think using this blog is going to be a fun way for the people in all the English classes to communicate with eachother, and comment on what everyone has to say, and their opinions.
